Email marketing has been around for a while now, and with the growth of social media many wonder whether or not it is still useful. The answer is, yes. If you want to connect with your audience on a more personal level than using email marketing is the way to do that. Luckily, there are amazing tools out there that help to make email marketing extremely easy. Let’s look at some ways that email marketing can benefit your business.
#1 Constant communication with your audience
Keeping your customers informed is integral to the ongoing success of your business. A lot of times when people purchase something online, they don’t think about the business again after that. So an email keeps you at the forefront of their thoughts. Also, it lets your customers know that you are thinking of them and that they are important. What is really great is when someone signs up for your email list. This means that they are committed to receiving emails from your business. Now you are the one to feel important.

Obviously, as a business owner, you're well aware that clients are your lifeblood. Your company's vision can be fulfilled when you have a steady stream of new customers - you can't run a business without customers.

However, attracting new customers is not something that happens automatically. Keeping them engaged, capturing their attention, and provoking their interest is the key to success. To increase sales and attract customers, your business needs an inbound marketing plan.
5 Important Ways to Attract More Sales

1. Offer a freebie to entice new customers
When you're starting a business on a small budget, giving away free products doesn't seem like the best business strategy. But this is one case in which you can make more money later through inbound marketing.

Top 5 Mistakes Small Businesses make on Social

1. Disappearing Act
Ever get exposed to a new business and do some research before you book or shop with them?  We've all come across Facebook Business Pages that haven't been updated since 2014.  I don't know about you, but when I see that, it screams to me "I don't care about you or my business!"

You don't have to post on every available social media platform.  You don't even have to post the industry suggested 1-3x per day.  Just post regularly and consistently!  One quality post that is customized for the audience of the one platform you are posting on daily is an outstanding start.  Better than many!

2. Its Not All About You
This could be airing political opinions, making it the family page, or making it a personal blog.

First, I have seen businesses close over standing by political opinions.  Just don't.  Even when you think you are making a decision about what is right...its just not right to everybody and if family and friends will avoid you so they don't have to hear it, trust me when I tell you everyone else will too (even if they agree with you).

Second, this is a bit of a gray area, so let me try to do my best to explain:  your customers want to know about you and your life.  I promise you they do.  This is part of trust building in relationships.  That said, you have a personal Facebook page.  Posting your daily pic of your kid, spouse, dog, car, vacation, etc. is NOT for your business social media.  Specifically written, relative, applicable content that highlights your life, but is professionally put together as a business would, is another story.  Here are a couple good rules of thumb to help you think about your posts:
  • Don't Publish/Post your Blog, Post, Picture, etc. the same day you created it.
  • When you go back to it, ask yourself if you would want to spend time on that content if it was someone you did not know or a company you just heard about.
  • Have someone with a good eye who will be subjective and honest with you review it.

Shopping for a Branding Consultant

What is a Branding Consultant and why on earth would I need one?  Oh honey, let's talk.  In the past, only big business has been concerned about branding.  They utilize entire marketing teams to focus on their branding to ensure their name is chosen before the competitor.  Pepsi versus Coke, chances are you have a giant opinion on which is better.  A branding consultant of sorts probably assisted in that opinion yours without you knowing it.  In this age of mass entrepreneurship, branding is more prevalent to establish market advantage and is also likely why you hear the title Branding Consultant more often.

Here's what they do:
  1. Getting Started.  A Consultant often offers some form of initial consultation to assess the potential relationship and opportunities.  This might be called a Discovery Call or some version of that.  This may or may not be free and could range from 30 minutes to 2 hours.
  2. Strategy. This may be wrapped into the initial meeting and may or may not include a full written version of the conversation with either details of the call, suggestions, a plan of action, a checklist, and/or so on.
  3. Projects. This is where things might change up a bit depending on your branding consultant and your agreements.  Your consultant may work together with you on projects such as:
    1. Pulling together and implementing your Logo and the Image of your company.
    2. Establishing the Vision and Voice of your Company and ensuring your Website and all other Channels speak a unified language.
    3. Planning and/or Managing your Online Presence.
    4. Heading Marketing Campaigns
    5. Establishing Sales Funnels
    6. etc.
  4.  Accountability.  Think of a personal trainer or a coach.  Your Branding Consultant may offer services acting as as your accountability partner for your Business and your Branding.  This may be a program of a set number of weeks, a purchase of a set number of sessions, or an ongoing subscription to services.

The #1 Necessity for Entrepreneurial Success

8/6/2018

The answer may surprise you.  There are hundreds of thousands of entrepreneurs in the world making excellent money helping solopreneurs uncover this crucial piece!  It may appear simple, but can truly be the most gut-wrenching, emotional, stressful, and terrifying thing you might go thru in your professional career.

Growing up a Failure
It all starts when we are children.  As early as 3 years old, we pick out our backpacks for our first Pre-K year of school with the image of our favorite things.  That may be Spiderman, Barbie, Frozen, or whatever is popular at the time.  Once we start school, we quickly realize everyone has an opinion of us.  We discover what we "should" where and like.  As we grow older this evolves into clothing styles and brands.  We begin to try and emulate what the popular kids are doing.  Opinions shift from things purchased to more personal things like our skin and the way we talk.  Our house and our family become judged.  More and more we alter what we like into what others like because it is easier to fit in than be judged.  Often, not until we graduate do we discover the things we care about or how unimportant all of those "things" were.  Sometimes, even then, we still struggle.
